When my Hornet followed me to France using a friendly transporter chappy, it looked immaculate. However it very soon crazed on the boot lid and parts of the bonnet giving a very rough surface. The roof is fine as its Toga White but the horizontal surfaces are a problem, it's painted in Maroon B but it is not the original paint as applied at Longbridge in 1966.
Any ideas on cause and particularly rectification?

Was it recently sprayed before coming over to France ?
I had this on a car years ago, I used the wrong type of primer that reacted to the top coat.

It's defo a reaction between current paint and either primer or underlying paint, only solution is sand back to original paint or bare metal, then repaint.

Hmmm, thought as much. Much of the car had remedial paintwork on a patchwork basis so the reaction is I guess , not surprising. Odd though that the same person did all the paint required and that not all of the surfaces have 'pickled'. I hope the photo was good enough to see the effect. Thanks for the replys guys.

Can Be lots of things. Insufficent inter coat drying and too thin of a substrate can cause it too fo example, but most of the Time Instantly shows up. Or after a good day in the Sun..
