The co2 canister ran out so I switched to argon/co2 mix and then had to readjust the settings as it seemed to run hotter.
I'm still not 100% on how that front corner all ties together, I was looking around the forum last night and it looks like the flitch wraps under the floor pan and is spot welded together.
Jack is helping me today so should have another update this evening.

I'm still struggling with the welder, not sure the generator has the power to run it consistently, or the welder is just old and junk.
So this is what I ended up with on the flitch repair. welding wise, I'm not sure it's much improved over what was there before to be honest
I finished plug welding in the join between floor pan and heelboard then I trimmed the excess on my repair and folded it under the floor pan
I think that's how it's supposed to go?
I still need to add a patch on the right where it meets the heelboard as the metal I had available wasn't big enough to do it in one.
Before I could finish the flitch repair I need to get the floor pan fully welded in and then get the new sill on so I can line it all up.
Seeing as I had run out of gas and couldn't crack on with the welding I set Jack to cut off the sill and see what we've got to work with.
The rear end looks the worst part but the inner sill all looks solid which I'm happy about :)
That's how we left it until next time.

welding looks fine now you've ground it down a bit, your correct about the flitch wrapping under the floor pan, you should be able to plug weld it (if you dont have a spot welder etc). Your inner sills down look too bad, hopefully when you've cleaned up the inner sill, maybe used a rust converter / remover (Deox gel is good), then you should be able to prime and paint etc.
by the way definitely get a big gas bottle, those little ones are rubbish and run out very quickly. The bigger ones are much higher pressures so have much more gas in them. I've not quite finished my first gas bottle and you can see on my project page how much I've done. I've rented from hobbyweld which you pay a deposit and a refill price, about £90 to get you started etc but much more economical if your doing any great amount of welding.

I've got Krust that I'll probably use there, need to check out what the mess of rust at the back of the sill was :/
I think my local place was about that price when I checked last 7kg bottle I think but a refundable deposit

Had some good news in that my mother in laws double garage might be up for grabs so potential to move in there which would be much more convenient if I can get a trailer to move the mini

I have, however, taken ownership of my mother in law's double garage now!
Just need to get the mini moved there.
Is the mini ok to move in the shape it's in? Currently missing offside sill and flitch to floor corner not welded together.
Cheers, matt

I spent the morning moving things in the barn and getting the mini by the door ready for my friend with a trailer to come and collect it at a later date but when I spoke to him he was free tomorrow.
Pictures and a video to follow

The small bottles run out far too quickly so I'm looking to get a larger bottle with a regulator, looking for advice on where to get it though? Any ideas?

for my restoration, i bought a tank from hobbeyweld (well rented). Pretty cheap you are going to be welding a lot. I think i paid a £50 deposit, plus £30 for the gas?. but its well worth. I bought a regulator from someone on here as well (will need to hunt for the name)
