The cars in the bodyshop are crammed in like sardines today so not much has happened on the GT as i have had a T5 van to repair and an accident damaged Modus to do.

I did get bits and bobs done in between though.

The headlamps had stopped working again and so I quickly found that there was a break in the earth wire so a new one was run and that's now sorted.

The dashboard is now fitted which completes the interior

The inlet manifold water pipe has been removed as per John's request

The spark plugs and leads have been changed

After running the engine on Friday, i came in to a puddle of coolant on the floor this morning. The water pump has started leaking so a new one has been ordered and will be here tomorrow.

Here is the only photo i took today

Then green MG to the right is in for a quote for the front floors to be repaired and also has a broken needle in one of the carbs. The new needle will be fitted in the AM meaning that can be moved out making room to get on with the GT

Ben

The engine bay looks a lot tidier (thanks) although the Mini does look like it's suffering from incontinence judging by the water on the floor. :-) :-)

As soon as i get all these cars out, i can have a good clean out. There is just no time to do it in between all the comings and goings and things are super busy at present

That was the new puddle after i moved the car. i think it must have been slowly leaking all weekend.

Better for it to happen now than on the road though.

Annoyingly, the motor factor sent out the wrong water pump. The one i received had bypass outlet so is no good. The correct one will be here in the morning as they have had to order it.

I did get the old one off and the area cleaned up ready

I replaced the indicator flasher relay as the old one was being temperamental and this meant that i could screw in the dash cluster for the last time.

Whilst i was there, i gave the inside a clean up

Then after doing a few other jobs elsewhere, i came back to the Mini and started to flat and polish the paint work.

After one side was done, i applied the MINI 1275GT stripes to the side and screwed on the arch trims

More tomorrow

I am so pleased with the way the GT is looking , the standard of work is so high, Ben has uncovered some horrors but has managed to either replace or fabricate panels to eliminate them all.

Thanks to all.

It is like a different car now and its so good to know that all the horrors are behind it and it's safe once more.

Cheers

Ben

Looking great!

Why black wheel arch moulding only on the front?
