Time for an update...

 

Assembly continued through the evenings...

 

 

 

 

 

 

some second hand mismatch arches were sourced and stuck on...

 

 

 

then on the 5th of july MOT DAY!!!

 

I had the whole day off for final tinkering, one thing being the bonnet catch wasn't catching.... so for a speed exercise i decided that the solution would be thus...

 

 

It will be changed in for something else because it rattles like a rattley thing

 

anyway 4 pm rolled round and after making the MOT Man laugh and congratulating me on fooling him, he generated this...

 

 

 

 

HURRAH!!!!! PASS!!!

 

Now for some driving!!

And so some driving happened the week after a mate and his mate asked me for a drive out for a few hours....

 

this trucks sign writing i found suiting in the back ground...

 

 

then for a quick pint after 3 hours of thrashing round back lanes...

 

 

then a certain AC Dodd made an appearance at a local tune up and power run weekend 

 

 

his tinkered resulted in a re-profile of the carb needle and adjust the timing, but also the Brand new Dizzy is *******, the shaft has about 8mm wobble either way at the rotor arm end, so he suggested I may get some back fire, and to replace it with a Lucas unit.

 

then later in the day....

 

 

to produce this...

 

 

not bad for an engine I popped together with secondhand parts I think

 

 

Then last weekend was the colchester to Great Yarmouth run of which I attended...

 

 

 

Overall throughly enjoying driving it! 

 

generating some minor tinkering to do on it but to be expected really as its it first MOT in 21 years!

for the eagle eyed amongst you,  it dawned on me eariler today that the revs and engine seed that generated my bhp, would prevail it was generated in 2nd gear   

 

So whilst a little disappointed about it not, disheartened and will be rebooking for another run.

 

Im already thinking of doing another head for it    with more porting and flowing to it. The current one only had some mild porting and flowing just to take the casting marks off really.
