So car is on the road now. Everything was fine except from the seals on the 998. We had Some smoke. So i bought a 1275 with 12g940 big valves head on it. Plan was 1293 and straight cut box. But my mechanic told me today to put it on and later we see what are we are going to do.
So here is the new heart. Has to paint green first.

So we build new wiring. For the front. It's almost ready.
I had a Sparco Chrono Seat laying around. Thank God it didn't fit. And don't worry i am not planning to install it. When i have the money i will order from newton commercial.
After of 10 minutes looking at it i was like. Nah that ruins the Interior. At some point it use to have a stero system. I remove every wire found from Inside. A portal speaker is just ok.
Just if you wonder the name bastard comes from the MK3 WRONG ROOF , MK3 TAILLIGHTS,AND MK3 BOODLIT. Greek bodyworks in the 90's were doing....

So we started putting things back together. I ordered the minispares stainless steel rim for the headlights and the quality i have to say , plus the feeling you have when you hold these is much better than the original ones.

New indicators and the first scale on the beams the small lights i re-made them on the indicators. So the indicators are working also as lights and blinkers

First Proper Ride of the mk1 illegitimate son with 2nd and 3rd gear pulls. Also Tip from Member Moke Spider who helped me solve the brakes problem is mentioned. The onboard footage starts after 3:50 enjoy
I put allready 450km on the car or 279.6 miles and everything looks fine. 5000 Euros or 4800 pounds so far make me smile all day.

Check the direction marking on your tyres - either some are fitted wrong or the front wheels need to swap sides.

you are right. on the photo i put the wheels wrong way. on the video i fixed them the day after plus i lifted the car 3cm because it was too anoying. proper height for adjustable suspension 3fingers between the tyre and the arch.

It's been a year since i wrote on the thread . So here are some small details. First of all i took my heritage. The car is 1966 and not 67 as i thought. So we change the decals on the doors and i put a little cream backround like Dennis mini from USa

Also i found a cheap mk1 heater as the prices have gone too far. Only for 40 € so i restored it myself . Here is the first coats. Also i made the crincle face using a heat spray and a hairdry :P

Next  i removed the mk3 air intake and put a plastic one from a kitchen absorber. 1,5€ with window net.

Next plan is mk1 boot lid a have the lucas taillights and the smaller window. Also we have the original mk1 steering column

The white photo is from the son of the original owner son. The First owner wanted to see the car but unfortunately he passed away a month after i found them,

His wife when she learned that the mini still exist was very emotional when we talked on the phone.
I am talking with Mini Hellas for a project for the new mini in which i am going with my mk1 on her bakery to surpise her. She is on the Other side of Greece but i hope we can make a deal for the video.

And am gathering money so finaly i can restore it properly

Finaly i have all the parts to make the rear end original . Didn't spend a single pound on parts since February but now it's the time . Fiberglass boot lid from minispares, plate conversions to put the mk1 rear lamps and lucas reverse fog light.

Nice work - looks like you're going down the same route I did with the MK1 look - my car was also white originally.
