Picked this up yesterday. Been in a lock up for 27 years. 1275 A series powered, Mini front and rear subframe.

A bit crusty here and there. Will give it a good lookover to see if its savable. Hopefully is because I have plans for it.

Are those based on the Metro shell or something else? We never had either here in the states so I have no experience with them.....

They kinda gave there ideas to the Metro but were before the metro. Made in Italy by Innocenti.

All running gear and engines are Mini. That is about it.

Very rare in the UK rare in Germany quite a lot in Itally.

If I remember right, they were reengineered to be completely daihatsu underneath. Saw loads in Rome last year. In fact I saw more of these than regular minis. Would love to get one but apparently buying a car in Italy to take out of the country as a foreigner is a nightmare.

I dont know about diesel engines.

but when they stopped using mini engines and running gear, then a 3 cylinder Daihatsu turbo engine was used. - the head and rear lamps + grill was also slightly different on the daihatsu models.
