Planning some modifications to my hill climber: are there any implications to fitting an aluminium tank in the boot, ie is this allowable for road going cars, cant see anything in the blue book that says otherwise.  Similarly are there any issues with mot etc?

I have mine in the boot. I wouldn't want to be shunted from behind but there isn't really alot I can do. Mine is on the road. As for blue book mods I'm not sure.

The normal tank is in the boot too, I can't see that an aluminium tank would be any less safe.

I was looking at similar, for different reasons (Minus so the tank doesn't fit under the parcel shelf and the filler neck is on the C pillar so would look better if it was removed entirely)  recently, but didn't get very far as I got distracted by something else, but all I could see was that it needs to be vented outside the car, which I guess the normal tank does through the cap.  But that's trivial to sort out.
