Hello,

I currently have an MG 1100 engine that is completely standard except for an MG Metro Cam swap.

I was wondering what work I would need to do to fit as supercharger kit built by The Car Kitchen.

The engine has just been rebuilt to standard specification, the bores have not changed etc.

Would I be able to fit this kit and then drive it away?

Cheers

Why not ask the person selling the kits what they would reccomend ? Surely they should be able to advise.

Phil.

I did, however he recommended I pay him £5,000 for him to build me a suitable engine, with all the bells and whistles that i don't want xD

Some of the "bells and whistles" might be important for the engine to work with his kit?

You need to consider:

Compression ratio - hard to change once the engine is built!

Engine build - are clearances suitable, good quality parts used throughout to suit boosted setup

Fueling - pump, regulator, carb, tuning etc

Ignition - megajolt or similar to reduce timing under boost?

Diff - do you need an upgraded unit?

Gearbox - higher diff ratio? upgraded gears?

Clutch- does it need upgrading?

Will it fit with a booster?

Cooling system - does it need upgrading?

AFR Gauge - probably a good idea to have one to keep an eye on the engine

Then, how much boost will it be making and what octane fuel do you have available? This will have consequences on some of the above..
