The most legendary of all Mini derivatives is still alive. The Mini Marcos that came 15th overall at the 24-hours race of Le Mans in 1966.

Also known as Le Mans' most heroic entry.

That's a great find! Going to be fun finding all the bits needed to put it back to original!

Excellent! Iconic car that has, thankfully, been saved.

I think it was very much just a standard shell, but still of historical significance.

D and H who took over from Jem Marsh made some very lightweight shells specifically for racing, they were so thin you could see light through the the roof. The TransXL sponsored car was one of these and very successful in many classes, I think it still holds 1 or 2 British speed records.

Very investing, the place restoring this is about a mile away from me

and I had no knowledge of them looks like it will be an interesting car

when finished, have driven a Mini Marcos back in the day with a 1275

engine fitted don't remember the spec seem to remember it being a bit

scary.

The owner contacted me about an engine for it. Had a lot of correspondents but unfortunately he's gone else where. Would like to have been involved in the project.
