Remove the loose rust as far as possible.

Apply the Deox gel liberally and do not let it dry out. Leave it for 1 hr then rinse off with water and thoroughly dry. I work mine it with a bit of scotchbrite as well.

I use a hot air gun afterwards to ensure its dry. I have used other products to clean off the residue but water works the best. The company recommends it so there you go.

Wire brush as much rust off as possible, apply liberally then cover it with cling film. Leave as long as possible for best results.

Get a fine wire brush and rub the gel into the rust to get all of the rust out of the tiny little pits.

Cling film method works well
If its really pitted a couple of repeat applications will be needed

That's probably too violent, you need a hand held wire brush that you can work into the rust and rust pits.

Yes, the drill might spray it in your face! Not good... Please always wear at least goggles when using any kind of chemical. No eyes, no more driving your Mini. I would hate that to happen to anyone.

I assume that the manufacturer provide full instructions somewhere, perhaps on their web site? Having said that, the above suggestions all make perfect sense.

The instructions, supplied on a separate sheet of A4, are very clear and detailed and i think it actually states to follow the instructions closely.

Just to clarify I'd use the drill powered brush to clean the initial rust off, then apply the gel.... Then use a hand held wire brush to work in when needed
