Hi all
I have a 1980 austin mini. When i purchased the mini the rear subframe was completly rusted to peices so i had to replace it. The new one that i have bought looks identicle and has all the same holes no sighns of cutting. Everything has been transfered from the old one onto the new one and everything was going well untill i came to put the radius arms on. The mounting brackes just dont fit. There are four bolts and if you line two uo the other two dont like up propperly and it impossible to put the bolts. In does anyone know why this could be? As to the farthest of my knowlege there is only one type of bracket to mount the radius arms so im really confused. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Chris

Which brackets are you using?

The new or the old subframes?

Fitting differences between gen / non gen - and probably between non gen manufacturers too - use the ones that came with your new frame and they should fit - if not send it back!

Might be worth checking the old subframe and brackets for any slight impact damage, compare and measure.

I've had the poly mounts cause/exacerbate alignment issues - there is a little less give in them than the original type rubber ones.

So you bought second hand? As every subframe I have seen for sale includes the brackets as they are part of it.

You are going to have fun.

Post up some pictures and we my be able to advise the best way to fix this.
