Heritage are the only place you might get the info.
But that may depend on where it was built.

Just have the original engine number or a similar one from that year (1977) stamped up by Minimail below and affix to your later A+ engine........no one who is not a serious Mini 'anorak' will be able to tell what year the engine is by looking at it (to most all A-series engines look the same) and the number will satisfy any officials who bother to check it matches your documents.
Minimail: (ask for Tim and he will also probably be able to suggest a suitable engine number from 1977 for you)

Your chassis number decoded is a bit strange too?? Is it a Mini 1100 Special??
X = nothing important
C = 1098cc engine
2S = 2 door sedan
1 = round nose
The B on the end might suggest a Belgian made car too.

Is it a 1979 model then? Otherwise there were no other round nose cars fitted with an 1100cc engine in the UK. Or did Belgium fit 1100 engines earlier if it is in fact a 1977 model?

All paperwork says it is a 1977. I bought it under the idea it was an original engine, but as far as I can see the engine was from 85

Xc2s1n1072564b is the chassis umber. I leave in May and I am kind of freaking out that I will not be able to take this car home
That number is similar to my old 1100 special and yes Belgium built.

German brochure from 1976 with an 1100cc engine, so it might have been available in 1977 with the same engine.
