This car has come together really well. Seeing all that rust earlier was rather depressing, seeing that you had a single garage with no power looked like torture.. but then the uPol, cellulose & top coats went on and it looks like a new car... really good!

Has been hard work building it out of a lockup but it's amazing what you can achieve when needs must. Used portapack Oxy acetylene for the welding. Cordless grinder and sprayed using a £20 airless sprayer off Amazon. 😀

Just goes to show what can be achieved without all the equipment when you put your mind to it.

Well done :-)

Mmmmnnnn, custard.

Those arches in black are really nice. So subtle. They blend in with the tyres.

Oh my goodness, you belted through this project.   I am always blown away by how much welding is needed on these UK minis.  Great to see that you have the skills.  Good to see that you did it how you wanted to.  You didn't show much info on the motor - was it a lot of work, what did you do to it - I guess you didn't take many pictures ?  Glad you are out and driving it around.

Didn't do much to the engine as I knew from when my mate bought it it was a good runner so just head off decoke and check the bores while off.
Your right about not many photos as only really have one day a week to work on it so tend to just get on with it

How did you get on fitting the vinyl roof? They can be quite a pain! any tips? glue used?

Wasn't too bad.
Drew a line down centre of roof an material.
Masked off all round gutter line.
Used heat resistant spray glue firstly down centre line of roof and material.
Then when tacked off joined my too centre lines gluing the middle first.
Then working my way out from the centre with the spray glue.
Most awkward part was stretching unto the corners but ok with a bit of perseverance.
Then trim off the excess and fit the trim.

First time I'd ever fitted one so looks ok I think.
Must admit though that a couple of places near the gutter rail hasn't stuck so had to gently peel up the edge and reglue a few weeks back
