It's a lot of work but at least you know it will be right when you weld it all up.
I've just done the same work on my pick up, Good luck dude

Sorry guys, I forgot to post these last weekend. I found out I had a bad ground clamp on my welder, so off to Airgas to get a new one. Started welding again (much cleaner) I ran out of wire. So after another trip to Airgas, a snow storm and 0 degree weather I welded in the Toe Board

Not much yesterday. I stayed out in the garage as long as I could before it started to get too cold when the clouds rolled in.
Mostly cleaning up some welds, filling in the holes, cleaning up more welds.
I got tired of messing with the front, So drilled out the spot welds and took off the remainders of the rear fenders where they attach to the B-Pillar.
Rain today, so not in the garage. But I did receive a Twin HS2 setup in the mail today. Will post more of that later

Hey guys. Been a while since working on the PUP but with the cold temperatures and snow, I found it really unmotivating to work outside in the garage. So I while the snow was falling I was collecting bits and pieces. Got all new bearings for the engine block, getting ready to take it to the machine shop soon!!!!
I had some the rubber style rear front subframe mounts and they came apart, so I decided to go solid.
But now the weather has taken a surprising turn in the high 60sF (16C for you other folks) so I went out into the garage last week and finished this up today
I then put the subframe back in with the new solid mountings and I am REALLY pleased with how they fit (good job MINISPARES)
Next I will be working on hanging the doors

The weather has changed for the better, temps above freezing (70F) with no rain or snow just sunshine. So out to the garage I went.
I started with old load bed and removed the load bed support piece. I am wondering why it is very decent shape when everything else is so holey
Next, I went about mocking everything in place
Then finished cutting out the old bed from the cab, and placed all the new pieces in place.
LOOKS LIKE A PUP AGAIN!!!!
And lastly, I hung the doors (not welded in place yet) and THEY FIT

That would be one of many speed parts from downunder. It looks the goods and is genuine in terms of age and provenance.
Back in the 70's there were loads of backyard speed shops in Aus, cranking out cast alloy parts to replace the factory castings. Some backyarders went on to bigger and better things, some faded away.
Usually for Holden red or grey motors. Lynx is one of the better brands from that era and are still around in various guises.

You can see about halfway down is the IK NEDLOH, NEDLOH is Holden spelled backwards
Should work well, I'd love a ute but they were never released down here, yours is shaping up to be pretty cool.

Thank you for the info. Very cool information about the Aus speedshops.
I saw it on eBay and knew I had to have it because who doesn't love vintage backyard race parts.
Thank you
