I'm just getting around to fitting my radio into my mini, I've welded up the hole in the wing so need a good quality and discreet as possible internal arial. any recommendations?

Cheers guys forgot about this, I picked up one from halfords as it was cheap but not sure what it's like yet, I like the above might have to try that.

Using the heated rear window as an aerial worked very well on a Ford Escort I had that had it fitted as standard from new.

 

There were other makes and models that used the same technology.

 

It was possible to buy a kit manufactured by a company called 'Bifi' that achieved the same thing but I think no longer exists.

 

I think it would be a good solution if someone came up with a modern version.

I removed the aerial from the front wing on mine, put a grommet in the hole and fitted a roof mounted aerial off a Corsa at the rear of the roof.... 

 

Although not an internal aerial, it works very well indeed, especially as its got an amplifier built into it....
