Hey all,

Been a while since I have come on here. not really done anything to my mini for a while so thought over Christmas would be the perfect time to have a little play.

I got myself a Plasti-Dip kit from Matt Pack LTD as a present to myself from the fat man as been watching umpteen videos on YouTube and really like the look it gives.

For anyone on here that knows me will know Im not much good at cosmetic stuff but thought I would give this stuff a go.

The body I sprayed onto was far from perfect with some runs and blemishes from previous paint job so I did what I could to flat them down and away I went with the Plasti-Dip.

It goes straight on, no priming or anything (just a bloody good clean!) and I was amazed how well it sticks to the car. So easy to apply and get a good finish.

Below is a few before / after pics. If there is anyone that wants a bit more info on the stuff then give me a nod.

I liked it before but the paint job was pretty poor and very dull.

The joys of plasti-dip is if I ever wanted a change its a quick peel off and good to go again.

Very dull before, sprays it matte grey plastidip :P hehe

Yeah, easy to reverse, or go another colour :D

I remember someone plasti dipped a mini bright orange, but rubbed all his original paint, primer then plasti dipped it >_<

Good job though. Grey and black always a winner together

Can I ask, what's the finish like around the windscreen and along seams etc, some upclose photos would be great.
I was thinking of doing mine Matt white a few years ago but couldn't find any up close photo unfortunately
Thanks in advance

its a toughie, but there is a few ways to get it better.

- I just masked up the rubbers and went round with a blade to cut off the tape from the paint and it seems okay.

- you can get a liquid you rub onto any areas you don't want it to stick to, then spray over and again cut and peel off.

- or best thing would be to take rubbers out but that's a lot of agro.

Ill try and remember to take some tonight to put up......

Ohs so you didn't remove the windows. A few photos would be great if that's at all possible around the window rubbers and maybe the outer seam trims as those are the areas I thought would create the biggest issues

no I left the windows in.

up close its not a perfect job but the base it went onto wasn't perfect.

will be doing my brother BMW 1 series soon, that will look good.

ill try and remember to take some close ups tonight. my seams are still exposed as waiting on some new trim for them.

More up close pictures as requested.

Like I said, not a perfect job but as a 1st timer I'm pleased as punch. Will trial around with a few different ideas / techniques in future.
