Sorry if I'm in the wrong section but am new to the forum.

have acquired a rather lovely 2000 Cooper Sport.

In the 2000 year brochure is a photograph of a Cooper Sport 'sporting' Cooper Laurel logs on the lights.

Question is, is this possible, legal and if so does anyone know where to find them?

From the brochure:

Thanks

Mark

Not too clear from the photo, but aren't they simply lamp covers which protect the glass from getting broken when the lights are not in use?

They used to be very popular back in the 60's & 70's. I don't know whether or where they can be bought these days.

Spotlight covers on my 'S':

Lovely - not quite what I saw but definitely would do the job very nicely.

Thanks so much for taking time to reply.

Just love your cars Cooperman; I am feeling envious already.

I have sold the Innocenti Export and am currently doing a full resto of a 1964 Morris 850 which is almost the exact same age as the rally 'S'. My Grandson & I also have an MGB-GT which we will complete after the 850.

Great to have a grandson who can share the hobby with you.

I am really hoping mine will share my passion for cars too - I rather think one of them might.

Good luck with the new car.

I managed to buy all 4 of those lamp covers for a total of £40 by patiently watching on eBay and gumtree. They're all original Rover items too. I've seen the minisport ones and they seem identical and the polycarbonate feels the same. Very pricey though.

I don't think they have any legal issues. They secure very well too.

I have the smoky ones and they do dim the light output a small bit, but they're easy to take off so there's no problem. Rover did do them in clear too, but I've only seen them once.

Thank you Alice Dooper,

that sounds like the thing to do.

I do look at Ebay so will hope to emulate your idea.

I don't see too much of an issue with marginally dimmed lights as they are not the prime source of lighting.

Thanks for your help;

I did actually get them from the very helpful MiniSport in the end.

I am despewrtaely trying to keep the car as near to 'virgin' as I can though it never had these covers when built.

But they are rather lovely.......
