If ever F1 becomes competitive and entertaining again I'd like to see it at Donnington or Brands, anywhere other than Silverstone. Having seen plenty of racing at all three of these circuits it makes for much greater racing when there is elevation change and also it certainly helps with spectator viewing. Silverstone may have plenty of history but that doesn't make it better, just they had more money (or not, as it would appear) to host it.

Lap one coming into Paddock Hill bend on cold tyres on the outside would be amazing to see.

Brilliant thought but the problem is, the nannies that now control F1 circuits wouldn't allow it.

There is probably no other acceptable circuit in the UK which could host the Brit GP. It is doubtful if any other circuit could both afford to put the required improvements to both track & infra-structure in place in addition to paying the fees required by Bernie & Max. If Silverstone can't afford the fees then who can? It seems that the greed at the top of F1 will deny British fans our own GP. The punters can and will only pay so much and it is already out of the range of affordability for many who would love to go. The only times I have been in the last 20 years has been as a corporate guest, and even then it is a nightmare getting in and out, except the time my wife & I went by helicopter.

More speculation and rumour  https://www.thesun.c...iralling-costs/ looks like this still has some way to run.
