Picked up a set of wheel skates from SGS and got them under the pickup tonight, and it moved.round in the garage. Easier to move about now, so hopefully I can make some more progress on the strip down. Still debating just where to start on the repairs.

Managed to steal a hour or so in the garage after a busy couple of weeks work and family wise. Carb removed, and also the full wiring loom. The looms had a lot of diy repairs over the years, and lots of extra wiring for speakers, roll bar spot lights and goodness knows what. The rear lights were also on home made wiring. Expect the neatest thing will be a new loom as and when the time comes. A problem to mull over years from now when the bodywork is all done :)

Yeah, but slow progress. Usual time pressures, but will keep chipping away at it. Still plenty of bits to come off yet :)

Quick road trip down to Lancashire this morning to purchase a rollover jig from a fellow TMF member. Trusty old Volvo estate swallowing the individual bits with ease.

A little more progress on the strip down this afternoon resulting in a wee collection of parts on the garage floor. Hardest part to come off was the pedal box - couldn't believe how much faffing about it took before this came off. There was just the bolt / pin for the brake pedal, no split pin (!!!), but made up for it on the clutch pedal. Man alive this took for ages wrestling about with a twisted split pin. Finally off.

The drivers side floor and inner arch are looking particularly bad. Lots of works ahead!!

Thank you! Metal work is certainly getting closer. Current plan is to start at the passenger side door area, so new complete inner wing, full A panel, door step and then try and get everything sorted for the passenger door from there. Picked up a tip to use a modified door step for the section between the top of the door and the roof which I'll try too. Plenty of bracing first.

Yeah not long now until your welding fresh steel in, I am glad your going back to the proper doors etc with external hinges. Looking forward to seeing some new panels in there.

Snuck an hour on the Pup today, steering rack disconnected, what was left of the front panel removed together with a section of inner wing from both sides. Just about ready to remove the subframe and engine in one, then it will be the rear subframe to come off, and the strip down to bare shell is pretty much complete. There's a lot of filler and fibreglass everywhere, so current thinking is that it would make sense to get the shell media blasted and primed ahead of starting the bodywork. Probably plenty of bracing prior to sending it for blasting just in case it's the filler holding the shell together!!

Socket obtained for the two big front subframe bolts so hopefully engine and front subframe will be coming out over the weekend and then it will be time for some panel shopping and cutting.

Starting to think that having the shell blasted might be a step too far at the moment, but will see how that goes.
