I was once talking about servicing my car at work when one girl said I wasn't allowed to do that and that it had to be done by a garage. A few of the other women I worked with all started agreeing with her saying things like it was fraud etc if I was giving my car it's Mot certificate...

Seeing as I get this on a weekly basis for working on my own vehicles, even though I am qualified. But I'd like to know what legislation there is that the guy down the road under an arch has to be qualified? Its not like you need any qualifications to fit wiper blades and headlamp bulbs working for Halfords either. Still the more braid dead these wastes of oxygen get, the more you can fleece them for there own incompetence.

In response to my other post. What was daft was that I was at university at the time studying Automotive Engineering so while I may not have been qualified, I probably had a lot more clue than others.

Yes. I once did one for someone and just said "chuck us some beer tokens". Little did I realise what a nightmare it was going to be. They got an amazing deal out of me.

I once had lots of LOL's sitting in Halfords carpark watching the tech try to locate the battery on a Vivaro/Primastar/Traffic van.

I put him out of his misery in the end and told him
