there is nothing that passes through the block and gearbox other than bolts and studs and Oil in the only point that has an O ring fitting.

no idea why there would be a hole there as it is too far in to come out anywhere for a fixing. but if there was a drilling there it may have had some crud old gasket in it.

That'll do me. Cheers

Chopped up my old tank today to get the sender flange. Cut out, ground back and welded onto the cub tank. Pity cutting up the tank as it was in really good nick inside. Especially considering the inside of the cub tank. Surprised the plate was only riveted on and not even sealed (well sealed with rust). Now I can use a standard sender and more importantly a normal centre speedo with the fuel gauge.

Finally ordered my seats. I think this are more appropriate. They are actually the side frames only and you make the seat up as you like, at what ever width you like ( could even do a bench) with bit of marine ply, staples, foam and vinyl. the down side is the postage and the import costs from the US are more than the item itself!

This arrived today. Thought I could either spend hrs making a jerry can frame or buy one for £20. It has nice thick metal flat bars and I can bolt a number plate and number plate light to it.much better than what I could make.

Good work.

Do you find yourself spending more time researching than doing ?

It can get a bit like that. I do find myself doing 'nice jobs' and putting off things like building the engine. Even though I know as soon as I start it It'll be fine.

I have got the original plates but won't be using them. "I'm just on my way back from a show Mr Officer".

i would not risk it as they can impound the car and as it is the new style plate it will be very noticeable,

yes you need a holder (box) for that nozzel. in board of the bumper?

why you may ask. it is a right pain getting the jerry can out to re fill and find that the nozzle is actually at home.  been there.

To be honest the can is more for looks than any thing. And if the fuzz try to do me, I'm gonna floor it into the nearest field

Wonder if anyone can help. I bought a loom which supposed to be a late 80's one, but I can't identify it using the wiring diagrams in the Haynes manual. I can't identify this relay that must sit next to the starter relay. Just incase you can't see the wires clearly. They are light green/white, light green/orange, purple and black.
