Chris
Something like this https://www.amazon.c...75222235&sr=8-2 ?

I'm unsure on that one, it seems an Oil for Petrol Engines, that might be useable in Diesel Engines.

Maybe this one (is a 10W40, but that's OK)

https://www.amazon.c...83&sr=8-1-fkmr3

I suggested a 10 litre pack as we do have them available here and they work out quite cheap, but this seems reasonable.

15w40?

Sorry, that was what I meant to type!

Yeap, that'll be OK. Just run it long enough to get it warm and no more.

On thing I will say the only time I have seen oil look that bad was when I had an oil leak into the water system on my T4.

my concern is just how much water got in there. And has any water been through the bearings before it emulsified.

How are other boosted engine done ?  I've not looked too closely at them.

I believe catch cans  are common. The Metro Turbo had a diverter valve on the bottom of the air filter & a non return valve in to the manifold brake servo take off.

I'm sure you could rig up something similar with cheapo Fleabay valves

I'll just have to suck it and see. Will flush it a few times first and keep an eye on the oil pressure. Otherwise I'll start taking things apart.

So far so good. After one oil and filter change the oil coming out is looking much better. I've put some more diesel oil in with some flush and started it up again and runs well again. Didn't have chance to drive it round the block, so will try it in the week. Oil pressure is good.

One thing I have now noticed is with my nice shiny new dsn oil cap, when I screw down the rocker cover nuts the cap hits one of the rocker studs. Does anyone know where to get thicker rocker cover gaskets from.

Good news - so far - on the oil situation.

You can try a silicon gasket like Tim has suggested or put 2 cork gaskets on.

I tried the silicone gasket before, but couldn't get on with it. It expanded when hot and slipped out of position.

Thinking of putting an engine in the back and make if 4wd. Am I mad? How hard can it be? Could pinch a few ideas from the gtm forum. Is there any reason why I can't have the gear selector rod coming out of the of the selector box and connecting to a gtm selector rod and have the normal one coming out the front?
