I have recently attached a Mini spares stage 1 tuning kit to my GT

I wanted to run the original aur filter to keep it looking as original as possible

Unfortuntely with the new inlet . There is not enough room to get the air filter under the windscreen scuttle

Can anyone point me in the direction of a fix. Or am i bettter looking at changing the inlet manifold all together

Thanks in advance

I fitted a stage 1 kit to my GT (from Mini Sport) and even though its a tight fit I have managed to keep the original air filter casing with a K&N filter element.

strange. i thought the kit was designed to run with a standard air box. ive never had any problems in the past.

would be interested to see some photos of how close it is :-)

Should be no problem with using the original air filter. Had a stage one kit on my clubman for years.

It is tight with the stage 1 and it looks at first that it does not go on but it will. Have you perhaps got some extra sound deadining in the way?

My 1000 has the origional air filter box. Its a tight fit. You have to put thelower half on firdt then fit the lid

Sound deadening or non standard engine mounts

Plank has your answer, that's the only way mine will fit to.
Filter housing, containing the element, followed by the lid.
Job done.
