Has anyone got any idea whether the original 'Moustache' style grille surrounds will fit my '83 mayfair, if so is there any modifications that ill need to make for it to fit?

This photo shows the front end at the minute, Cheers!

Plenty of threads on this, remove mk2 onwards grille and chrome lip on bonnet, drill out the spot welds on the bonnet lip, remove and paint, fit mk1 grille and moustache.

As an aside, a friend of mine who is in the Mini restoration business saw an ad. in the local paper for 'Mini Grille, never used, £15'.

He called up to see if it had been sold and then went round to buy it. I can imagine the look on his face when it turned out to be a 'Breville Mini Grille' for grilling food  :D .

now that would be a unique feature. I've seen Merc grilles. Rolls Royce grilles. But never Breville grilles grafted to the front of a mini.
