Mine is but it's your car to do what you want with, you could take the original one out and store it then put it back in later if you want to.

Do what you want with your cars but keep the original parts for the future. If not for you then for future owners :-)

If you have a limited or special edition car with unique seats, don't sell them. You might think you can make a quick buck or two now but it will cost you a lot more to source others in 5 years if you decide to go back to standard. Other than that, make the car you want. If that's a completely original car, go for it. If it's upgrades to your own tastes, go for that.

I think you should have your Mini as you want it, but keep all the original parts that you take off.

My Mini is quite a rare model, but not a particularly valuable one. Because it was never seen as valuable, lots of the original parts have been lost.

I would like to take it back to original. Most of the parts are still available, however the one thing that is not is the floor. Mine originally had the rubber floor coverings rather than carpets. And they are now impossible to find.

Depends if you intend to keep it or not. You've probably guessed - I don't give a shiny s**t what the purists say. It's your car, if you want to change the interior, go for it!

You don't say what edition your car is?! Most Ltd editions only had 1000 of each made. Out of those a huge chunk will have long since been scrapped or changed well beyond recognition or turned into race cars of some description. So I would say, as long as it's not obnoxious and if you can stand driving it, then keep it original. It will get a lot more attention in its original state. City's, Mayfair, Sprites, even standard 1000's, fill your boots. If you do intend to mod it, keep the original equipment.

Live once, it's your car, your happiness and pleasure, so make it how you want.

Keeping it original for what? Can't take it with you..

P.S - Bet you can guess what my 1999 factory RedCooper Sportspack looks like? aha :teehee:

True. Very true. I'm personally of the opinion that every mini deserv s to be saved and that every mini should be as it is on the log book.
The only reason my car isn't totally original is because it's not entirely certain what car it is. Log book and Vin plate says Mayfair, reg on all the windows says Racing Green, but the VIN on the scuttle (which someone had tried to obliterate) also says Racing Green. It had also lost its 998 engine and been replaced with a 1275 Cooper SPI.
