Hello Anorak,

Thanks for yor replies.

I am trying to post a photo of the boot lid.

But the number plate housinng is body colour.

Sounds like it ight just be a French Mayfair with a Thirty badge added as suggested...

BR

Andrew

well on a 30 the light housing should be body colour. a mayfair's would be satin black.

again, has it been changed or is it original paint ???

also, sometimes in the right light you can see marks in the paint from the original decals. a 30 decal is very different to a mayfair one :-)

That's interesting, it is definitely body colour.

But if you have every seen Parisian parking it is very likely that the boot has been resprayed./ renewed.

It also appears that the French distributors changed all manner of things before delivery.

The decals are clearly a recet addition but will look for any signs underneath.

But if its the wrong interior, then it could be a special order? or probably just a Mayfair

Forgot to add that body colour/paint appears very original.

No signs of coulour change or major re-spray.

I'm not sure about French spec cars, but in the UK COG Cherry Red was unique to the Mini 30 and later on the Lamm Cabriolet. The fact that it is an '89 car and has COG on the chassis plate would lead me to conclude that it is a Thirty that has had a later interior fitted.
