Great car and a great story. Be really nice to have the original registration back on it. Is it a keeper or will you move it on as you did the Sprite?

It will be nice if you keep it and take it to some shows.  :proud:

Thanks for the interest! the answer to both is to keep it, the Sprite was only sold

as I had this one waiting, I am only allowed two cars these days! HaHa,

and the plan is to do some shows with it, starting with Bingley this weekend

and take it from there, never done any before although done loads of different

types of Motor Sport over the years.

Just to round of the story of The Countess! for its first journey out of Yorkshire,

I drove it down to Bingley Hall Staffordshire, on Saturday, it behaved impeccably

was parked overnight at the venue, we stayed in Uttoxeter, and Taxied to and from,

(walet is still limping HaHa) met some very nice people including a couple from this

forum one of them a very charming young lady Mini owner. Also a very nice Spanish

Gent, I didn't get much time to wander round a very busy show, and just got a couple

of photos :shy: ,

So thats the first show done, hopefully will do a few more over the year, what else do

you do with a very special and rare car, and it will be in MiniWorld magazine in the near

future.

Thanks for all the views and comments.

It looked brilliant, every time I walked past you was chatting to someone. Well done, was one of my favourite cars of the show

It certainly looks the part, a great achievement Frank. As an aside, there doesn't look to be many Mini's on display.

A small question regarding the spotlights. How are they mounted to the car? I'm sure there are pictures somewhere on the build, but I must have missed it.

I walked past a few times during the day but you always had a crowd of people chatting for me to say hi. Great looking car, Frank. It stood out from the rest due its originality!

Thanks Graham, never got chance to look round much, what I did see there were a good

number I suppose in these days, to be fair to to the BMC people the Traders pay for their

stands and it probably costs $$$$ to but the show on, but there again so do the public!!!!

To me The BMC care more about $ .

Will I do another BMC show??  :xxx:  :xxx:

My own opinion!

Thanks Steve as Ive said really did meet a lot of interesting people

On page 6, sorry not sure how to link the page no, is the best photo Have of

the brackets! they were made by me from a couple of old Rover Mini brackets,

after trying various suppliers for them, they bolt on to the flat part  and the curved

part of the front panel with large repair washers behind the panel to spread the load.

Hope thats of some help.

Another piece of info on the show, I had a visit from 3 guys from my old stomping ground

in Scotland!! 1 a Miniclan member with a Classic mini, 1 a Mk1 Escort Mexico owner, and

1 a Mogie 1000 owner! all 3 I have done some work for in the past, in particular the Mogie

1000 owner I restored a MK 2 Jag for about 20yrs ago.
