There were many 998 pistons and not all the same.
Got the numbers on the crown?

Of course there were I thought they were all the same apart from the press fit vs floating pins. Back to google.

IIRC Vizard list most of them in his big book.

FYI and for the benefit of future 'search' users, smallbore piston compression heights are as follows (according to Vizard)
998: 1.333"
1098 1.194"

Those I've listed are just some of the factory ones, there's a few more.
