Clubman Estate Shock Absorbers Question

Best Answer Spider , 23 January 2017 - 06:36 PM

Give them a call Cal, they do all sorts.

OK mate, I will do it now :)

For reference when talking to them, from the Centre of the Eye on the bottom, to between the Rubbers on the top, Extended length is 410 mm and Compressed length is 255 mm.

Just check with them how the measure them as I've sound some manufacturers work to mounting lengths and some to body lengths.

I would not recommend you go any shorter than 255 mm in the compressed length.

Give your sizes to Protech, I asked them ages ago, they said they'd make them up to whatever size you want.

Have just looked on their site, its only coilovers they build? All I need is a standard(non adjustable) set, I can buy standard front shocks no problem, but the estate/van rear shocks are only available in the UK as adjustable

Mini spares quotes as 271.25mm closed and 410.25 open, I will assume this is an end to end measurement or pin centres?

I would recommend for the sake of a phone call checking with them. As I've already mentions and I've also found out, for what ever reason, there appears to be no standard way of measuring them, though, BMC / Leyland did seem to be in the minority in how they measured them.
