G'Racy - Here's how the fogs are mounted

WP_20170204_02_35_41_Pro_zpsrbj1pthi.jpg

That's just a bit of rubber from a HT lead to stop vibration between the bracket and bmper

Couple of holes drilled, this next pic shows where on mine - There is a circular access hole (standard) in the front valence to get the bolt on

Ace Alex - That's really nice!! It looks like a mini done by Rolls Royce inside! I'm guessing that wasn't cheap to do....

Hey, I'm looking into sorting out the inside of my mini and would appreciate any input, or ideally pics of the interior of white minis.

I'm trying to decide between all black with classic style bucket seats. Plain but classy (maybe hot in summer? maybe not so comfy??)
Or I also have a friend who does seat covers, so keeping standard seats - so any colour option is possible, we were thinking maybe a deep red colour for the seats.

At the moment I have (dirty) cream seats with brown door cards and carpet, which looks alright in my opinion - maybe it looks strange to everyone else - unfortunately the seats are just about to wear a hole through the backs from something inside the seat which pokes into my back. We can probably sort this out if going down the recovering option. Anyway, it's about due a change

My personal opinion would be black cobra classic with out headrests in the front with matching rears and doorcards

Black is nice, but anything vinyl and leather gets very hot and sticky in hot weather especially with no air conditioning haha

I've decided to go mental...

First I bought some low back bucket seats on ebay - they seem to be vintage cobra cubs or similar, so the side wings aren't too high for normal seat belts but they are pretty small!! I'd say only about 50% of people can fit in them!!  The girlfriend didn't seem impressed with the 'child seats' and I'm not convinced with them... making the car less safe by excluding headrests seems a little bit daft (pretty, but daft)

Anyway.... these might be appearing in the for sale section soon - I'll try to fix them up and sell them on.

So, yeah. I decided to go with my friend who does seat covers and door cards. Deep red it is!! It's all happening this coming weekend. Got to admit I'm a little nervous as black is the safe choice really, but we designed some very classic looking stitching patterns so hopefully it all looks good in the end!!

Babsbrown - point taken.... I've never know the joy of working A/C, so sweating is a part of summer driving

So, I've got the interior 90% done. I'm over the moon this the seats and door cards - they completely transform the car and are much cheaper than getting bucket seats too. They were made up by a friend of mine who trades on eBay as HallsClassicInteriors so shout outs to him!! We went with 'matador red' all round.

I'm going to dye the dash rails and parcel shelf black - need some black belts at the back (Is dye legal??) and I'm thinking about using a very diluted form of the dye to darken the carpets. The minispares ones I got seem a little bit too bright in my opinion... What do you think?

Pics!

Still need to get the rear seat in properly and sort the wiring/past welding marks out!!

Looking fantastic and must be even better in real life.

Agree on the carpet, though it would be very difficult to dye. I've seen vinyl spray used on carpet like parcel shelves, wonder how that would wear on a carpet?

Personal choice - I'd leave the dash pads black, though would consider having a cover sewn up like on the very last MPI' s in ether black with dark red stitching or maybe in the red to match the seats.

All very subjective and down to personal choice. Either way, great wee car, wiould put a smile on your face just looking at it in the garage.

that has to be the best non standard re-trim i've ever seen. the fit looks perfect.

Huddersfield mini do a nice maroon carpet set that i have my eye on for my mini. would look better than using dye. you can sell the red carpet on.

I know I'm late, and your interior looks fantastic, but I thought I'd show off something a little different in my White Mini. I've got a green interior that looks really nice with white.

Great work. Looks fantastic. The colour really suits and lifts the wee car to another level.
