Wondering if someone could do me a favour and take a measurement between the B Pillar and the main hoop of their Z Cars conversion. I'm specifically looking for a k20a frame dimension but other engine frames may also be of use.

Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of having an engine available currently to mock up the rear hoop location, hence the question.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, Im guessing you have already cut the body out but are looking for the exact mounting position of the base plate for the main hoop. I positioned mine by measuring where the front of the cage frame met the floor in the footwell with the upright right up against the lower dash board rail.  If you put it as far forward as this the rear wheel sits pretty much where the original did.  Hope this helps

No I'm not actually fitting a z cars kit. I'm prepping to build a spaceframe and want to make sure I leave plenty of room rear of the main hoop for a k20 engine. I won't be purchasing an engine anytime soon as there's plenty design/fab work needing done forward of the main roll hoop.

I've been through various builds and it looks somewhere between 100-200mm offset from the b pillar but a quick snap with a tape measure next to the gap would be grand if anyone's got one.

Thanks for the response though.
