Bit of a jump here so sorry about the lack of updates.

Fitting the front driving/fog lamps am I correct in saying the fogs are the two outer lamps and the driving lamps the middle?

Also which lamps are the fogs? The clearer ones?

Looking at pictures on google shows both.

The ones with heavy vertical lines are fogs, the clearer are drivers. Driving lights in the middle, fogs on the outer.

For some reason, ours left the factory with the fog lights in the middle.

How odd!

It was something I made sure was right on mine when I bought mine. I studied loads of pictures and videos from its release, including press cars.

Could anyone recommend a cavity wax i'm thinking of ordering some Bilt Hamber dynax s50 has anyone used it?

I'm also looking for a set of new shocks originally it had non-adjustable konis but I cant seem to find them anywhere does anyone know an equivalent?

I used the S50 in cavaties and really liked it. Much cleaner, easy to use and certainly travels well. I found it a lot cleaner than Waxoil. I had warmed it up a good bit first too and was expecting a fair bit of overspray mist but it was fine.

We had done the inside of the doors too and when I had to do a bit of work in there 6 months later, everything was well coatedand a touch unpleasant to work in, just what you want from a cavity wax.

I’ve seen the other oderbody version used, just the clear not the black tinted and it seemed to be similarly good to apply. A wee thin coat was barely visible a and a thicker one had a slight yellow tint. Just a good bit more expensive than waxoil.

Dear knows if it’s any better, I’ve only had it in for 2 years and it’s all good. I’d certainly use it again for the cavities. I’d use the other version for the underside except that it would be a bit expensive, our Mini is built for enjoying on the road so I’ve a good coating on her.

Well I've gone with steve220's advice regarding the spot lamps and it looks right.

Today I made a start on prepping the engine for refitting.

Stripped all the ancillaries off it and cleaned up the head/block so that's all been repainted black.

Tomorrow I may drop the bare engine in so it's out of the way.

Just before its crash in 2011 I had a new clutch and recon gearbox fitted and the engine didn't smoke or use any oil so I hope it's survived it's lay up.

I used the s50 and found it to be excellent. I applied it last summer when it was warm and it went on nicely. Used my compressor and lance and applied a good thick coating inside doors/box sections so hopefully corrosion shouldn't be an issue.

Well Nemo is nearly finished just the n/s overseer a lost wiper and Arial left to fit.
I also need to solve a starting issue that I've a thread about in the problems section.
Hopefully it will be sorted and I can get it MOT'ed at some point next week.
