Evening all!

Yesterday I put my '95 Sidewalk back on the road after two years SORN. Have had a new sill put on the driver's side and sorted out a seized handbrake to pass her MOT! Happy to say she's running like her old self. What suggestions would you all have for things that may need looking over?

Yesterday the radio switched on/off when I turned on the heater/wipers, on a couple of occasions. Radio is also skipping CDs pretty badly, so I'm wondering if it's a bad earth, issues with contacts/fuse box or just the radio itself. Hasn't done that today and I've just driven home with full beams on. I also think she's ever so slightly less powerful than was two years ago. I'll most probably put her in for a service next pay day, but until then what should I be looking at myself?

Good to be back on the road!

Well done putting your Mini back on the road ... :)

With regards to the radio, it could just be a bad connection in the wiring, check the fusebox under the scuttle, might have a few corroded connectors on there with it being stood a while. Might mean they just need cleaning with some emery cloth and putting back together again, possibly replace all fuses for new - even f they are good...

A service will do your Mini a lot of good with the running issues you are experiencing with the lack of power you was expecting... It could be that your used to driving a more modern car with more efficient delivery of power.... thus the Mini doesn't feel the same...

My Sidewalk has gone back on the road this week too! Happy days! I'm up north too.

If you fancy joining the Sidewalk Owners I'm arranging a club stand at the National Metro and Mini show at Gaydon in June :)

Nice, thanks for the tip! I spend my time between Manchester and Preston.

Still driving well, had it out every day. Radio isn't really playing up anymore. Will still probably get her serviced next month though. I've noticed she doesn't start on the key anymore, there's a second delay.

I've only visited once as I'm a bit further north, but the chap was very knowledgeable and I've never heard a bad word said about the business. Worth a visit if you're nearby.
