Wing To Scuttle Gaps

Hi has anyone got a pic of how the gap is "supposed"to look where scuttle panel meets wing top,also is it ment to be filled with seam sealer.

That depends on the age of the car.

Early 1960s, narrow gap, curvature matching on both panels, filled with sealant.

 

Mid 1980s, tooling worn out, radius on wing tighter than scuttle so large gap in middle, not filled.

 

Early 1970s, more or less in between, filled.

 

But that is only a sample of one car from each era, and I am not convinced that the factory was always consistent.

Something like this can be achieved

And mine are sealed with Aviation sealant, far superior to the stuff for cars you can generally buy.

Thanks for the replies mines 1976,those pics are spot on Neil just what I was after,does the aviation sealant have any other names as a quick google just shows a gasket type product,thanks in advance

I need to fit my wings in the next few weeks... are those photos before sealant, or is the sealant applied between the panels before fitting?

Those gaps are after sealant is applied. No point in sealing before fitting as you have to weld the return on the underside to the scuttle.
