What do you experts recommend for sealing the headlining to the body?

 

Specifically, when wrapping the headlining and sealing it along the top of the front windscreen aperture prior to fitting the windscreen rubber seal.

 

The stuff that was used originally allows the vinyl to be peeled back without damaging it and the adhesive is fairly easy to remove by rubbing it

i.e not permanent.

 

Evo stick spray adhesive?

I have just done mine.
After searching the forum I decided to go with the double sided tape.
Used a 3m product nice and thin and sticks well. Also can be repositioned
Best thing is no mess and cant stain through

Hi, I used this adhesive. It was very forgiving if you misplaced the headliner in that it would peel off the next day but still had great adhesive strength. You could certainly get a 'bit high' if done in a confined space!!!

Best used in conjunction with the rubber seal from front / rear windscreens that you are about to replace. Cut them into small lengths & they will hold the headliner in place.

Contact adhesive in small tubes with small nozzles were best for me. Neede about 3 tubes. Not messy, grabs like it should and you can easilly re-do it without issue if you need to re-stretch it / adjust.

Second that.

I did a first time tackle of fitting a headliner. The tape is clean and easy to use. It doesn't half stick. I've had the windscreen out and in since and it still stayed in place!!

I didn't peel all the backing tape off until I had the liner just right. I was working at in a professional Bodyshop, they had been very resistant to try to fit the headliner and thought the double sided tape was excellent.

There's a few similar products out there. The one I bought was around 5mm wide. We were able to put the windows in straight away.
