Nice Build!!!

any specifications on the engine? Standard pistons? - where did you get the decompression plate?

I am looking into a turbocharging a 998A+ draw through (or suck through) turbocharger

standard 998cc with flat pistons and decompression plate, in the future i want larger chambers and no decompression plate but first i need al the right numbers for the calculation how much cc the chambers have to be.

i have al ready made some calculations but did not have al the right numbers. with the calculations i came out on 8.2 compression, a bit on the low side  8.8 is fine

the decom plate is from ebay they have different sizes in cc

suck through is easyer i think the only problem is the pulley on the market is to large 120mm, that is fine for a 1275 but not for a 998 so you need to machine one smaller

it runs al ready on a hiff44 carb needle bdd turbo needle

but it's not running perfect, i think because of the carb gets to cold

so after i have fixed that problem (copper pipe around the intake pipe on the coolant circulation)

it will run a lot better i hope

I'd ditch that idea if I were you and put a small weber on instead. The old wrapping the long inlet pipe with small bore copper isn't really addressing the problem

i dont have a large budget so first i will try this, also the brake booster is in the way for a short intake pipe to fit a weber

i dont want to remove the booster because i like good stopping power

i have to wait til march to continue because it is in storage for the winter months

you can fit a Weber 40 with the brake servo in place. With good pads, discs and calipers you wouldn't need a servo

The probleem was still the same, i ordered a AFR gauge so i Can see when it drives lean or rich. The probleem was too lean. So adjusting it and the probleem was solved.

The ignition timing was set at 0 advance, so it drives safe but not with al the horses, Miniprojects helpt me with better adjusting the ignition, now it has a 123 mappable distributor, it drives like never before like a rocket😬😬😬🚀🚀

The next probleem is the standard fuelpump we had to block the air filter for 2/3 because the pump cant keep up the air flow

But it drives good now so i Will first go to L2B like it is now

running video will follow soon

L2B was lots of fun, first long drive with this set up

not without some problems

first problem, i blocked the breather fitting on the carb but the block was missing so it ran very lean

i had a new block plug on it and problem solved

next one  overheating ..... it spits coolant out of the overflow on the rad not sure why jet

so i have some things to sort out

Good to see it behaved well, a couple of niggles is expected. Was your 123 easy to setup? Im considering an Aldon Amethyst for mine.

next week on the dyno  :D see how much horses

123 was very easy, the curve was a bit of a guess because we didnt know how much boost it runs.

i have the boost gauge only need to install it, so the curve can be adjust better

the overheating is sorted out i think, (air in the system ) all the air is out now and it wont over heat

i will film the dyno for the next update

Shame, I will be on holiday then. We're normally there with my dad's MGA. If you need any spares I can recommend going to the Waalwijk AutoJumble on the 24th of June, always great fun and loads of Minis.
