I do like this. It's a real progressive evolution of an early car into a 1275, albeit with a solid-block non-'S' engine.

 

What a great car it would be for historic road rallies.

 

It should make good money and my guess would be around £22,000.

Not sure why you'd go to all that effort and then use an A+ block though - a 1275 A series would've been better and they're not that hard to get (or expensive).

Just seen it advertised elsewhere for £15,000. That looks like good value really.

 

For historic rallying the FDR could do with lowering to 3.9:1 and the LSD might be a handful on historic rallies. But the basis of a good rally car is there.
