You will need an adjustable regulator fir the rear brakes. Weather this is one il line to th rear brakes like I have done or an adjustable pedal box with two seperate MCs connected on an adjustable bar to alter force applied is up to you.

All I will say is check your regs. You may need two brake systems/lines. Will a mechanical handbrake count as one?

This formula is "Classic Hot Rods" and is for cars from the 60s and 70s. You won`t find too many Ford Anglias and Austin A40s etc with dual brakes, lol.

but they are allowed, as per the rules.

I don't see why they allow single line brakes, contrary to normal practice, but I do understand why they allow the Ford Kent engine, presumably on a modified Mini transmission. Not commonly done nowadays although there is a recent thread on this forum. It made very good sense when the Kent was a mainstream engine. It was almost the Holy Grail of Mini tuning. I actually saw one at an exhibition in about 1972 and was seriously impressed.

But I would definitely fit twin circuit brakes if allowed, preferably with the Metro calipers and twin independent front circuits.

Would a split system add that much to a competition car? Hitting your braking point, flat out, and discovering you have anything less than a fully functioning set of brakes is going to be "interesting". Granted the Metro set up will be the best in that situation, but still about half of what you need.

this has got me thinking. as you have a dual MC and the metro brakes could you not pumb the front circuit from the MC to work as a single line set up to only one set of pistons and then plum the (what would be mini rear) other port to the other set of front pistons. and then have a regulator in the rear line.

so you have single line set up but with a safety circuit as well?

not though this through yet just a first thought.

That's a front rear split dual circuit. It's what you get if you use the conversion hose set for fitting Metty calipers on a Mini. You need all 8 caliper pistons working to get the piston area for the mechanical advantage (and to push the pads squarely).

Having generated all this discussion I have decided what to do. I am retaining single lines to the Metro calipers on the front but I am going to split the system front to rear using a tandem master cylinder which I`ll get when I trade in the old style one that I bought. See? I do listen to you guys.
