How are the door check grommets affixed to the door jamb?  I have a vague recollection of sheet metal holes in this location, but they seem to have been filled in the course of bodywork.

Thanks.

When I first got my Mini the doors used to fly open on pushing the button, like they had door poppers fitted. It turned out the above had been glued in instead or the earlier thinner type. I'm not sure if that's how they are all fixed as mine were not original but I can't see any other fixings.

Tried to fit one of these myself before. Was impossible to get the door closed with it there!

Let us know how you get on.

I used body trim adhesive.  Worked nicely.  The seal is quite soft, so no problem with door closure.  It is possible to install the seal in a reversed orientation.  Doing so would locate the thicker part of the seal in a location which would interfere with door closure.  The thinner part of the seal should be located outboard (towards the door).  Note also that the seals are "sided", i.e, they are different right side and left side.
