Does anyone have one of these/experience working on them?

I'm slowly buying bits to her back on the road ( only had her a short time, bought as a non runner) but the engine is confusing me. there are SPI and MPI traits as far as I can tell! Which is making buying the right bit hard.

That sounds about right for a late Jap injection mini (i.e. MPI era). SPI injection manifold, MPI block and full electronic ignition like in MPI. The Jap spec stayed with single point injection.

yes I have one they are a bit of a mix and match, but pretty straight forward

Is yours an automatic?

 

The only valid reason I understand why Rover used the SPi injection manifold after 1996 was for the kickdown linkage on the automatic transmission.
