[Haynes]

Need some inspiration.  I am about to have some welding done to sort various patches, then it will need some paint.  I keep going round in circles and end up with keeping it black, although I had planned returning the roof to white.

 

But i do long for a more interesting colour, having owned this car for 20 years.  I want something thats understated, cool, retro and says 'cooper'.  The original mk1 cooper colours are gorgeous but as I have later yellow/ white plates etc and do not want to go down the mk1 lookalike route.  

 

My favourite colour is fiesta yellow but really dont think that would work on my car with the later features.  Grey is nice but has been done to death, not so keen on greens or red.

I wouldn't rule out yellow - a few mk2 coopers used that colour, and I think it suits them really well



Other than that, there are a few really nice shades of blue you could try?

This is fiesta yellow, original cooper colour, I was thinking of with a mk3 grille photoshopped on.  Dont know if would work on later car with yellow plates etc

Ahhh, serves me right for not checking haha. A brilliant looking colour, but I think you're right about the yellow plates - they wouldn't quite look right, though if you could find some pressed metal plates, they may help a little

I love Fiesta yellow and surf blue but I'd be tempted to put it back to standard colours with original badging, without the bonnet stripes and keep it archless with the same 10" minilites.  I think your problem is you literally have loads of options with so many nice colours to choose from.

That off White of the first of the three white minis looks lush! If not - black with a white roof looks awesome - but I may be biased lol

Beautiful colour without a doubt just don't thing it'll work on a 90s car.
