Main headlights not working at all, rear lights are fine and side lights are only very faint when switch is in position 1 and they are completely off in position 2. I disconnected the switch today and joined the brown/red and brown/blue with a test wire and got the same result only very faint side lights when connected and nothing at all with the other wires connected. Any advice appreciated incase I'm missing something simple.

I would suggest you have a look at the bullet connectors behind the grill under the slam panel, pretty good chance it is one of these connectors probably an earth.

thanks RedRuby cleaned them and worked I treat the old girl is all MOT'd for another year
