Hey all! Quick one -

Was sat at the lights today, just revving up to set off when there was a fairly loud pop/clunk sound from somewhere between the radio/heater and engine, and everything cut out immediately. Started up and set off again fine, but very confusing... Never happened before, just curious if this has ever happened to anyone else? Mini is a 95 Sidewalk, recently back on the road.

Loose wiring and loose engine. Engine moves causing an electric cut out.

I would check the earth strap to bulkhead/engine steady connection. The engine steady bracket might be on its way out-it happened to me once; I did not deal with it immediately and I ended up having to buy a new exhaust manifold which broke because the engine was rocking so much.

Or worse, the battery hot cable is chafing and shorted out momentarily.
