Hi,
Got the rear subframe out yesterday. When I bought the mini as an MOT failure, one of the reasons for the failure was rear mount corrosion. Having a look at the rear mount from below, I can see what looks like 2 plates (see pic) image.jpg 63.84K 25 downloads
Are these previous repairs? I plan on buying the rear valance closing panel with subframe mount repair section. My questions are:
1) Are these two plates previous repairs?
2) Should I remove 1 plate (corroded part) or both?
Cheers,
Chris

They are part of the closing panel and are original.
They should be retained for strength so make sure you replace them.
I believe the heritage closing panels are the only ones to come with these plates. I have used m-machine ones in the past and had to make up the extra plate.
Cheers
