I have recently acquired this lovely Mini Advantage 998cc Manual but unfortunately I have to part ways with it.
Background
The car has recently been restored by its former keeper and all credit to him, he has done an amazing job.
This is what the previous owner told me was done:
- bottom seals are white stone chip.
- Underneath black stone chip
- new carb
- new battery
- new fuel pump
- complete new front ,doors replaced new wings , a panels etc
- new inner and outer seals
- new door steps and door posts
- new front floor and half rear floor
- front sub frame re build
- New bushes and ball joints
- New wheel bearing all round new track rod ends
- New sub frame mounts
- new engine mounts
- new streering rack
- new discs and brake callipers
- new brake pipes
- rear radius arm rebushed
- new brake shoes and wheel cylinders
- new clutch
- new head gasket fitted
- new inlet manifold
- new exhaust system fitted
- new mounts front rear and top
- New engine steady bushes
- Four new tyres (I have only done the mileage home in them otherwise they are brand new)
- car was stripped to bare shell and rebuilt
I drove the car home from Stevenage to Leicester and had no troubles whatsoever, plodding along at 60-70 no problem
The car is in amazing condition mechanically and structurally, and although the car has been resprayed at some point, its not an amazing job and could be tidied up a bit. I will reiterate what the previous owner told me, there is no rust on the car.
The car was maintained and restored to be as close to the Advantage spec as possible and all efforts were taken to retain this spec including keeping the original stickers on the car.
This is a great opportunity to own a reliable and structurally sound mini that you can just get into from the get go.
There are only a couple of bad points I can speak of first hand
- the gear knob thread has worn and can sometimes comes of when lifting for reverse
- the driver side window works but is very stiff
- the brakes are very hard (not sure if this is how minis are supposed to be) but i suspect changing the brake fluid might help
Price - £2700
Location - Leicester
