i have a next base dash cam.
You can buy a hard wire cable for it that you can wire into the car, or just do the same and wire in a fag lighter socket,
its a positive and negative, easiest would be from the back of the stereo, just use an inline 10amp fuse.

I have cheap Ebay ones in all my cars, about £10 to £12 inc branded SD card, use hardwired power supplies from a Chinese Ebayer that cost under £3 with them.They are wired to an ignition switched live.
They all work well, when I had an accident last year, I could clearly see it was my fault !

Hardwire them in to save you a cigarette lighter socket and forgetting to plug them in. Some insurers (not all) will lower your premium however be careful as they will request your footage in the event of a claim - who ever was to blame,
