Hi all

Is it possible to use the MFU and TPS from the MPI models on a 93 SPI Cooper? After a long search I have been unable to find either part for the SPI.

The issues I have are erratic idle (Not vacuum pipes, lambda, CTS or inlet air temp as all are new) and also the fuel pump not starting on IGN 2 (Fuel pump is fine). The car will turn over fine but just wont start as no fuel.

Any other suggestions are welcome!

Many Thanks

Homer

The fuel pump not starting... have you checked the inertia switch on the bulkhead to make sure it's not tripped? Just press down on the rubber cap to make sure.

Inertia switch is fine and I haven't personally fiddled with the idle screw. If the idle screw has been fiddled with would that cause an erratic idle?

So after testing I have found the fuel pump was being powered from the fuse box on IGN 2 (Must been a mod from previous owner). The actual fault is the connector to the inertia switch, are those possible to get hold off?

Send a message to WiredbyWilson on here, he might be able to point you in the right direction.

Well I believe this is the connector http://www.dellorto....-connector-kit/

Though referring to my other question can the MPI throttle position switch be used on the SPI?

MFU and TPS are different between SPi and MPi.

http://minispares.co.../YWB10022.aspx?

TPS more tricky as everyone seems out of stock.
