Bought some minispares bumpers to refresh my Mk4, but starting to see that the over riders (the 'dogleg' tube part) seems to be very close, if not touching the Mk3/4 lights.  Is this fairly common with trying to adapt Mk1/2 over-riders with the larger square lights?  I see a TON of pics out there with this combo, but the spacing looks good to me.

Anyone?

i may be wrong but i think the factory stopped fitting the over-riders on the rear when these lights were introduced.

I've seen loads with just the upright part, they set them so they just miss the boot i think. cant remember seeing any with the tube section as well ??? just seems like it may be a bit too much to me.

Corner bars were a Mk 1 feature and discontinued when the Mk 2 with its larger back lights was introduced.

If you buy undrilled bumpers I would think you could tweak the profile of the overrider bars ends and position them a little further in?

No, that isn't correct, as the only way you will move it inward is to move the overrider inward, which will then hit the boot.

Just run the overriders without the bars.

I got them on after some slight body seam/holes work.  I was also able to slightly bend away the bars from the Mk3/4 square lights so all is good.
