Hi everyone,

Just bought a new set of vacuum pipes for my SPI (it's a project car, it didn't have any), but I'm having problems.

The pipes won't fit on to the connections of the inlet manifold (see picture).

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance!

They are tight (they need to be) they do just push on

I found swearing helped a lot. I pre-fitted them to a spare fuel trap to help open them up a little. You obviously still need a snug fit so don't over stretch them

Haha, I'm trying at the moment, and it can be done but with the tight space it's quite hard.
Thanks for your comments!

Put them on a radiator for five minutes. They have a bit more 'give' then.

or pop them in a pot of hot water for a minute or two to expand the pipe and make it easier to slip over.

Put a bit of personal lubricant or silicon grease on the manifold to make it easier to push on
