Any one got one and any recommendations please. Not had any problems just don't want to have any either.

Screw fix have a wireless setup with good reviews for 99 quid but I'm abit concerned about battery life etc pointless having an alarm system when one of the components has a dead battery.

Cheers
Andy

You could always buy a trickle charger and leave it connected up to that if you have mains power there.

The wireless ones use a couple of watch batteries in each device and they last a good time. The main part does still require to be plugged into the mains and when each device gets low batteries it warns you.
If it's not to hard to wire one in I'd go with that method cheaper in the long run.

As an electrician I refuse to install wireless alarms, yes I get told that Chubb fit them etc and people will tell me they have one and it's perfect, those people aren't the ones getting rung on a Sunday when you are out for a meal all the time or 8pm during the week because it's bleeping!

If it's in the garage just install a wired one, the instructions are easy to follow but if you have any problems I can help you out via pm :)

Very kind offer thank you. I'm just uneasy about the wireless ones as you say batteries running out etc. I have power to the garage but that would be easy to disable. I assume the alarms have backup batteries is that correct?

Yes all mains power alarms have a internal battery incase of short term power loss. They just beep to warn you then go into alarm if either the power isn't reconnected or the battery goes flat.

Found a good system for anyone else interested. Came recommended by someone I know who fits them for a living. It's a texecom veritas c8 with 2 pirs, a siren, a battery and all the wiring for 80 quid.
